Aarav had always been afraid of the dark.
Every night, he checked under his bed twice and kept a small lamp on until morning. His friends laughed at him, but he never told them why he was scared.
One night, during a power cut, the whole house went dark. Aarav’s heart raced. He grabbed his flashlight and slowly walked into the hallway.
That’s when he heard a soft noise from the kitchen.
“Who’s there?” his voice shook.
No answer.
Gathering courage, he stepped forward and switched on the flashlight. In the corner, he found a small kitten stuck behind a box, meowing softly.
Aarav paused. Then he gently picked it up.
“You scared me,” he whispered—but this time, he wasn’t thinking about the dark anymore.
He realized something important: sometimes fear hides something harmless… or even something that needs help.
From that night on, he still respected the dark—but he wasn’t afraid of it anymore.
